We’re looking for an experienced person to manage art development for an exciting AAA project. The role of Art Lead is to form, lead, and motivate a team of talented artists that can fulfil production objectives in terms of time and quality. Your job will be to help us create a new art team and then plan, organize, follow up, and evaluate their work to deliver an excellent visual experience.
Responsibilities
- Help create an amazing team of artists
- Spread the project's vision to your fellow artists and keep them motivated
- Maintain a professional level of planning in terms of art production; ensure the team has high-level and up-to-date roadmaps (in cooperation with the Project Lead and Art Producer)
- Maintain detailed, up-to-date lists of art assets so the team is always clear about what needs to be produced (in cooperation with Project Lead and Art Producer)
- Supervise outsourcing; help find / use the best outsourcing companies and contractors, put artists on relevant teams, and oversee their performance
- Provide regular reviews and feedback on work; take care of the personal and professional development of team members
- Report to and consult with the Project Lead and other leads regarding task results
- Define priorities, create tasks, and assign them to people cooperating with the Art Producer
- Track the progress on tasks; identify risks and issues on a weekly basis and actively solve them
- Design solutions, as well as new techniques and pipelines
Requirements
- 4+ years as a professional artist or equivalent experience, and 1+ years of art management experience
- Expert knowledge of graphic 3D software
- Excellent knowledge of art planning and art pipelines
- An understanding of the game development cycle and processes
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Great interpersonal communication skills
- Good problem-solving skills
- Time management and organizational skills
- Strong focus on quality, precision, consistency, and details
- A calm, practical, and proactive approach
