Environment Designer

Responsibilities

  • Designing, prototyping, iterating, and polishing of environments using asset placement and terrain sculpting and painting
  • Communication and cooperation with other environment designers and artists to create believable environments
  • Gathering asset reference materials, creating asset lists
  • Proactively seeks feedback and is capable of implementing it
  • Actively comes up with creative design solutions

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years‘ experience as a Level Designer/Environment Designer
  • General knowledge of environmental processes and urbanism
  • Eye for detail and good visualization skills
  • Ability to create and iterate on simple functional whitebox models
  • Ability to actively search for information on the internet, in libraries, in archives or in the field
  • Capability to critically interpret and categorize research findings.
  • Good communication skills and be a team player
  • Good spoken and written English (certificates welcome for non-native speakers)
  • Basic knowledge of modern history and its cultural and political context

Welcomed Skills

  • Basic 2D (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator) and 3D art skills (Max, Blender, etc.)
  • Experience with procedural terrain tools (Houdini, World Machine etc.)
  • Experience with 3D game engines (Unity, Unreal, etc.)
  • Interest in modern military history
  • Interest in ARMA series or games with similar authentic approach
  • Land navigation, understanding of maps and plans
